Pure joins The 5% Club and commits to ‘earn and learn’
We’re always looking for new ways to develop people and help with their career progression. That’s why we’re pleased to announce that we’ve joined The 5% Club.
What’s The 5% Club?
An industry-led initiative focusing on recruiting and developing apprentices, graduates and sponsored students. Started in 2013 by Leo Quinn, Group CEO of Balfour Beatty, today more than 700 employers are helping people learn while they earn, become more employable and have fulfilling careers.
How it works
Companies that join The 5% Club commit to apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formal programmes making up 5% of their total workforce within five years. They then report their progress in their annual reports. Employers who’ve already signed up range from SMEs to FTSEs, and come from many different types of industries – from engineering to legal, and everything in between.
Why we joined The 5% Club
We already offer lots of different types of apprenticeships at Pure covering every aspect of recruitment, from business admin to marketing. And our graduate training programme gives university leavers the chance to work in one of our four offices, with a view to becoming a recruitment consultant. So it seemed like the natural next step for us to join The 5% Club and show our commitment to developing our people and their career paths, and creating a skilled workforce.
Ben Farrow, Operations Director at Pure had this to say about the scheme: ‘So far, we’ve had 16 grads and 16 apprentices at Pure. We decided to join The 5% Club to give even more people from all backgrounds opportunities to develop both personally and professionally. ‘
Gill Cronin, Director of Operations at The 5% Club said: ‘We’re delighted to welcome Pure as one of our members. The 5% Club is a fantastic network of professionals who share knowledge and learn from each other. All our members share an ethos of creating skilled workforces through “earn and learn” development programmes, helping people build meaningful career paths.’
