Pure has been recognised as one of Cambridge’s 130 Most Influential Businesses, as voted by the readers of the Cambridge News.

Compiled to mark the 130th birthday of Cambridge News, the list of Cambridge’s 130 Most Influential Businesses celebrates the brightest and best organisations which have made the biggest and most positive impact on the Eastern region.

Founded in 2002, with our head office in Histon, Pure was included in recognition of our contribution to the region’s growth and how we have made a difference to local people’s lives by going beyond just recruitment.

To date, our expert consultants have supported over 13,300 people, at all stages of their career, to find their next professional role. Across our specialisms, we have worked in partnership with over 2,300 businesses to recruit the top talent needed for business growth. But it was our added value initiatives that really made us stand out. As well as providing recruitment expertise we are committed to working closely with businesses in our region to understand what is important to them. We identify ways in which we can develop and deliver quality initiatives to help them achieve success.

Our established initiatives are continuing to go from strength to strength. For example, through Best Employers Eastern Region we have now supported over 400 organisations to explore their employee engagement levels and create workplaces which are stimulating, motivating and bring out the best in their people. We have helped local people’s careers to further flourish and supported the region’s businesses to develop their talent pipelines, through development initiatives including the Women’s Leadership Programme and Finance Leadership Programme. Our unique salary benchmarking tool, www.comparemysalary.com provides employers and candidates with access to free, anonymous and real-time salary analysis. New initiatives launched this year include the Board Ready Talent Scheme, delivered in partnership with Cranfield Business School, to support businesses in developing their executive pipelines and retaining their future leaders.

We know that the influence and impact we have been recognised for wouldn’t be possible without the commitment of all our team. We strive to create a rewarding place to work where our people are happy, supported, rewarded and motivated to go the extra mile. This has been recognised with accolades including the Investors in People ‘Gold’ Award and three global Jostle Awards for intranet strategy and internal communication. Our teams have also worked together to help us fulfil our ambition of being a socially responsible business and have helped us to raise almost £150,000 for more than 30 charities including Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, STARS, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and the Royal Papworth Hospital Charity.

As a business which is usually more focused on celebrating and rewarding other organisations in the region, including through Best Employers Eastern Region Awards and sponsorship of the Cambridge Business Excellence Awards, we are honoured to be the ones on the receiving end of this prestigious recognition. We would also like to congratulate all of the other businesses on the list, many of whom are clients or those we work in strategic partnership with, such as Birketts and Grant Thornton.
