As part of our ongoing purpose of celebrating and promoting the fantastic employers and places to work in our region, we have teamed up with Birketts LLP to sponsor the Best Employer category at these respected awards. This year’s awards programme, run by the Eastern Daily Press, has a new name and new look to keep it fresh and relevant. What hasn’t changed is that the awards highlight the business people and companies who are achieving and excelling, setting an example to others and representing Norfolk and East Anglia on a national and international stage.

This year’s theme is ‘People’, and this is particularly relevant to our category; as the best employers put people at their heart of their business success. Recruiting and retaining great people is proven to be key to growth and productivity. The Best Employer award recognises the leaders who are developing, supporting and attracting talent to achieve business success and organisational growth.

The Best Employer award winner will be a business which supports talent progression, has a highly engaged workforce, has developed inspiring ways to reward recognise its staff, and one with a culture which makes it genuinely feel like a great place to work for all.”

As part of the entry process, all organisations will also complete the Best Employers Eastern Region confidential employee survey. Best Employers Eastern Region was founded by Pure and psychometrics experts eras ltd in 2012 and is delivered in partnership with Archant and Birketts. The Best Employers survey is easy for organisations to customise and the results are collated into a tailored report which summarises the culture, values and leadership style of the organisation. It also includes a benchmark of how the business compares to others in the region.

The Best Employer Award, in particular, will really help to enhance employer brand, promoting organisations as attractive places to work, which will inevitably help to attract future talent.”

There are 11 different categories open for entry, with all the finalists considered for the overall Business of the Year title. The best of our region’s talent will be showcased at a black-tie awards ceremony, held on 22 November 2018 at the Norfolk Showground.
