The invite-only event was held on 8 March and organised by Becky Wilson, senior managing consultant and HR recruitment specialist at Pure. The topics included gender diversity and inclusivity and apprenticeships for future generations. Bree Sherwood, director at PwC, was also a guest speaker at the event and shared feedback from the recent PwC Gender & Equality survey. 

This is the second HR Directors dinner to be hosted by Pure, with the first taking place in Cambridge towards the end of last year. They are proving to be so successful that Pure has confirmed it will be rolled out as a regular event across all four of its offices across the region.

Becky Wilson said: “We wanted to create an event which would bring HR Directors from local businesses together in a friendly and relaxed environment. The aim was to give them a chance to discuss key topics, share best practice and to problem solve challenges with others working at the same level. It went extremely well and attracted professionals from a diverse range of industries including manufacturing, professional services, local government and housing organisations. We are now planning on hosting a session every few months and would be very interested in hearing from any other HR Directors who would like to attend future events.”

The HR Directors Dinner events will complement Pure’s already extensive calendar of events designed to support local businesses including Finance Director (FD) Breakfast Clubs, Best Employers Eastern Region seminars and its Women’s Leadership Programme.
