Pure wins Regional Chamber Award for its focus on employee development
Pure has won the regional heat of the British Chamber of Commerce Awards and will now represent the region at a gala awards dinner on 26 November in London.
The professional recruitment agency, which has offices in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Ipswich and Norwich, has been awarded The People Development Award for the Cambridgeshire chamber region, in recognition of its ongoing commitment to staff development and employee wellbeing.
The People Development Award is one of eight award categories developed by the British Chamber of Commerce to promote the best of British business and to celebrate the contribution businesses make to the local community and to the wider economy.
Pure was chosen as the regional winner of the People Development Award in recognition of its excellent approach to the promotion and implementation of a learning and development culture. In particular, Pure was praised for its commitment to investing in key staff training initiatives and support to the team including the introduction of an apprenticeship scheme, a graduate training programme and implementation of a learning and development strategy. The scheme has created excellent development opportunities for five members of the administrative team.
Gill Buchanan, director at Pure, said: “Our people are at the core of our business. Our philosophy is to ensure our people are all fully trained in all aspects of their role and that they are knowledgeable experts in their field. It’s also important that they understand our core values and our ethos of quality and trust. Therefore a clear learning and development programme is fundamental to our success.”
Gill, added: “We’re proud of our commitment to make Pure a rewarding and positive place to work, but our investment has also benefitted the business as a whole. Our knowledgeable employees mean we are seen as trusted experts in our field, and this has helped our business to grow and succeed. We have also created a culture where everyone feels valued and equipped to contribute to the business and have an excellent staff retention rate as a result.”
Pure will now join over 70 businesses at the gala dinner, representing the region in the People Development category. All the companies attending have been selected in the eight business categories from hundreds of entries across the UK. One national winner will also be awarded the accolade of Business of the Year and will receive a £10,000 cash prize.
