Pure hosts a celebration event for the latest graduates of its Women’s Leadership Programme
Nine aspiring female leaders from across the East of England have graduated from Pure’s highly successful Women’s Leadership Programme, joining a growing alumni network of over 70 women to have completed the bespoke initiative.
Delivered in partnership with strategic HR consultancy People & Performance, the Women’s Leadership Programme, which was founded by professional recruitment specialists Pure, supports organisations to achieve the business benefits of gender equality and helps women to strengthen their leadership skills. The latest graduates and their employer sponsors were treated to a celebratory afternoon tea at Quy Mill Hotel in Cambridge on Wednesday 8 November, hosted by Pure and People & Performance.
The event enabled the delegates to share what they have taken away from the programme and provided them with the opportunity to hear from guest speaker Karen Daber, a retired Assistant Chief Constable leadership coach and trainer. Throughout her career, Karen has championed equality issues including being responsible for establishing a programme of initiatives and work-streams to improve the recruitment, progression and retention of officers from under-represented groups. Now working as an equality coach and trainer, Karen shared her top tips on how to succeed in senior roles.
Lynn Walters, Executive Director at Pure, said: “Congratulations to all our latest delegates. I hope this event provided them with another opportunity to learn from each other by sharing their experiences and the development of their own authentic leadership style. We’ve seen from previous participants that the Women’s Leadership Programme offers the opportunity to achieve significant development in a short timescale.”
Christina Youell, Director of People & Performance said “We are on a mission to help organisations plug the gaps in their leaky talent pipelines and retain and progress talented women. Over half of our alumni are now in a broader role or have been promoted within their organisation. They are all taking on more responsibility and adding increased value to their organisations.”
The Women’s Leadership Programme, established in 2014, has been created to provide an innovative dual approach. The workshops, supported by individual coaching sessions, help women to strengthen their authentic leadership skills. Through the role of the employer sponsor, organisations are supported in exploring their culture and shaping it to become even more inclusive and successful.
