Joseph O’Sullivan and Paul Sheldrake, from Pure’s Norwich office, were invited to share top tips on attracting and retaining talented employees at a business masterclass session held by the Eastern Daily Press (EDP).

As professional recruitment specialists, the pair were asked to be part of a team of expert speakers at the day-long event organised to help support small business owners. The masterclass, held at the Forum in Norwich on 9 November, was split into two sessions with the morning focussed on sharing advice on getting the best from your staff and on attracting, retaining and engaging the most talented employees for your business.

Joseph and Paul shared insights on topics including creating a workplace culture attractive to the millennial generation and the importance of employer brand when looking to recruit talented employees.

Joseph O’Sullivan, Manager of Pure’s Norwich Office, said: “We were delighted to be asked to be a part of this event. Pure is committed to contributing to the growth of our region and being able to provide support to the many innovative start-ups and SMEs across East Anglia is a key element to achieving this. Being able to attract and retain high calibre employees is a significant factor in achieving business growth and we were able to share advice on how business owners can showcase their firm as a great place to work.”

Joseph and Paul were guest speakers alongside Jane Rodger, HR and communications manager at Nwes, and Dee Wilmott, chief HR officer at Archant. The afternoon session was a masterclass on the importance of branding and top tips on how organisations can market their business effectively by choosing the right channels.
