Speakers announced for the Best Employers 2018 Awards Conference

Employers across the East of England are invited to celebrate the region as a great place to work and to hear about innovative and inspiring approaches to employee engagement at the Best Employers Eastern Region 2018 Awards Conference in October.

The conference will be held on Wednesday 3 October at the Rowley Mile Racecourse in Newmarket. The event will not only reveal the organisations across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk which have won prestigious Best Employers Eastern Region 2018 Awards and Accreditations, it will also provide the opportunity to hear from guest speakers and to discuss creative ways of increasing engagement and developing inclusive, inspiring workplaces.

Best Employers Eastern Region was founded by professional recruitment specialists Pure and psychometrics experts eras ltd. Sponsored by Archant and Birketts, it supports organisations to create workplaces which bring out the best in their people to achieve business success. At the conference, Paul Henderson,  from eras ltd will also reveal the latest engagement trends for the region, based on findings from the initiative’s free employee survey which measures employee engagement, company culture and values.

The guest speakers include business leaders from regional organisations which are achieving success by putting people first. These include creative marketing agency Made, ReAssure, part of the Swiss RE Group, life and pensions company IPRS Health, property consultants Bidwells and Investment Management Firm JLL. They will be joined by Clare Southall, Director at Essex-based Entheos Consulting, an experienced consultant in organisational change. Clare will host an interactive, world-café format discussion on employee engagement.

Made, will share more about the creative agency’s adoption of a Swedish workplace inspired six-hour working day and how this has benefited both the business and employees. The leadership team from IPRS Health will reveal more about some of the employee engagement initiatives which led the company to be selected as the winners of the Best Employer category at the Suffolk Business Awards 2018. Plus, with ideas for getting creative with work environments evolving all the time, Bidwells will talk about their journey of using an office refurbishment to embrace agile working practices.

The conference is open to any Directors, Senior Managers, Business Leaders or Heads of Function in the East of England; whether they have participated in the Best Employers Eastern Region 2018 survey not. Throughout the day, the winners of the Best Employers Eastern Region 2018 Awards will be revealed with categories including Best Overall Large Company and Best Overall Small Company. Plus, the employers which have achieved a Gold or Platinum Best Employers Accreditation will also be announced. New for 2018, the Accreditations are presented to organisations which have achieved high engagement scores in the employee engagement survey and submitted further evidence to be assessed by a panel of expert advisors.
