Pure’s charity quiz in Basildon raises over £1500 for two Essex charities

Professional recruitment specialists Pure hosted its annual Essex charity quiz night, bringing local businesses and clients together for a battle of the brains which raised over £1500 for local charities the J’s Hospice and Kids Inspire.

The fun evening, which has become renowned for its playful rivalry between local organisations, saw 20 teams take part to pit their wits against each other and raise money for the two charities. The teams included people from CHP, Birkett Long and Macquarie Energy Leasing.  The overall winners were a team from Lakehouse who were presented with a bottle of Champagne each.

The event, held at the Holiday Inn in Basildon on Thursday 19th April, also included a raffle, with an array of fantastic prizes, generously donated by local businesses to help raise further funds.

Ben Farrow, Director, and Manager of Pure’s Chelmsford office, said: “Our annual charity quiz is one of our main fundraising activities and we have chosen to once again support both the J’s Hospice and Kids Inspire. We have developed strong connections with these fantastic charities and we are proud to be able to support the excellent work they do. I would like to thank everyone who attended, donated and contributed to the event, helping us to raise such an excellent amount to be split between these two extremely worthwhile charities.”

The J’s Hospice, based in Chelmsford, provides respite and hospice care services for young adults aged between 16 and 40 who are suffering from life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Chelmsford-based Kids Inspire helps to heal the wounds of trauma and reconnect young people with both themselves and society through mentoring, therapy, training and activity packages.

The funds raised were secured through the entry fee for each team, with the full amount being donated to the charity, and through the raffle of prizes donated by local organisations. Pure is committed to continuing to support its charity partners across the region. This includes over £1,700 raised for the J’s Hospice and Kids Inspire at last year’s Essex charity quiz night.
