Pure can help organisations be #BeBoldForChange this International Women’s Day
Today (Wednesday 8 March) is International Women’s Day and this year’s theme is #BeBoldForChange. The theme has been chosen as the World Economic Forum predicts that we are still 170 years away from gender parity. However, if enough people, and organisations, pledge to take bold action, this could be brought forward.
If you follow Pure you will know that diversity and inclusivity is a topic we are passionate about. It is an issue we’re faced with every day as we look to help our clients attract and retain aspiring talent, both male and female, and as we work to support candidates of both sexes at every stage of their career.
At Pure, our biggest #BeBoldForChange moment so far has been the launch of our Women’s Leadership Programme. Our aim is to inspire organisations across the East of England to create rewarding work environments where any barriers to progression are removed and everyone can work in a way that makes them feel productive and engaged. That’s why we worked with People and Performance Ltd to design a Women’s Leadership Programme with a dual approach. Not only does it help women to develop their authentic leadership skills, it also equips them with the ability to go back out to their organisation and to work with their employers to remove any unconscious bias. We’re proud to say that we’ve already supported more than 50 aspiring female leaders to strengthen their leadership skills, develop their confidence and grow their network.
Today we will be supporting International Women’s Day by downloading and printing the #BeBoldForChange selfie card from the International Women’s Day website and sharing our team’s bold pledges on social media. We hope lots of other organisations in the region will also be getting involved. Bold actions could be anything from taking a junior woman to a meeting they wouldn’t normally be part of through to pledging to educate children about gender stereotypes. Or, it could be deciding to sponsor a female employee to take part in our next Women’s Leadership Programme! If so, find out how by visiting our Women’s Leadership Programme page.
Whatever you choose to do, we’re looking forward to seeing all the ideas of what people and organisations in our region will do to be #BeBoldForChange.
