Pure’s year-long Ipswich charity campaign raises a total of over £4,100 to date for ten different charities

Pure’s year-long #IpswichBig10 anniversary campaign has raised a total of £4,100 for ten different charities.

The charity campaign was launched at the start of the year to mark a decade since the professional recruitment agency first opened its Ipswich office. The team pledged to take part in, or organise, a series of events to support 10 local charities throughout the course of 2016.

The final charity to benefit from the #IpswichBig10 initiative was the Lighthouse Women’s Aid Refuge in the city. Team members at Pure split into two groups and each spent a couple of hours volunteering at the charity which supports women and children affected by domestic abuse. The volunteers were tasked with wrapping presents, which had been donated by the business community in Ipswich. The gifts will be given to the women and children who use the refuge and who would not normally receive any presents. Pure also donated £100 in ‘One for All vouchers’, to add to the surprises the charity will be able to give out on Christmas day.

Throughout the year, every single one of the 21 members of staff at Pure’s Ipswich office has played an active role in the campaign, from organising charity fundraising events and volunteering their time, through to taking part in gruelling challenges including the Only the Brave obstacle race, Ipswich Colour Dash and Whole Hog mud run.

As well as the Lighthouse Women’s Aid refuge, the nine other charities which have benefitted from Pure’s #IpswichBig10 anniversary campaign are: Brightstars, St Helena’s Hospice, Ormiston Families, the East Anglian Air Ambulance, St Elizabeth Hospice, The Papworth Trust, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, Upbeat Heart and Samaritan’s Purse.

Paul Sheldrake, Manager of Pure’s Ipswich Office: “Pure has always actively supported local charities around its offices in East Anglia. We believe that fundraising challenges are not only an important part of our company’s corporate social responsibility, but also a great way to reinforce a sense of teamwork. When we were deciding how to mark the Ipswich office 10-year anniversary it seemed apt to create a campaign which showed Pure’s ongoing support for the many organisations which provide invaluable support to people in need.”

While the #IpswichBig10 charity campaign itself is one off, all the charities which will benefit are organisations which Pure has worked hard to support for many years. Across its four offices in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Ipswich and Norwich, Pure has raised over £117k for charity since it was first founded in 2002.
