Pure and Birkett Long provide free employment law seminar for Essex HR professionals

Nearly 50 HR professionals from across Essex attended an interactive breakfast session on employment law, hosted by professional recruitment specialists Pure and law firm Birkett Long.
Pure and Birkett Long have been working together to host regular employment law seminars in Essex for four years. The two firms join forces to provide the free, informative sessions to help local employers stay up to date with the often fast moving and increasingly complicated field of employment and recruitment law.

This latest event, held at the Holiday Inn in Brentwood on Thursday 3 November, was the best attended to date. It attracted 48 people from 29 different organisations ranging from SMEs to large blue chip businesses and public sector organisations. The seminar was broken into two parts, starting with an employment law update from Martin Hopkins, partner and employment law specialist at Birkett Long. This was followed by practical workshops covering day-to-day challenges faced by modern HR professionals including; disciplinary, discrimination, sickness absence, holiday issues and employment references.

Ben Farrow, Senior Manager at Pure and HR recruitment specialist, said: “It was great to have so many people from the Essex business community join us for this seminar. Our aim is to make these sessions as valuable as possible to anyone in HR, or responsible for leading employment law in their organisation. The feedback we had from delegates was that the event was informative and engaging, and that the workshops provided a great forum to discuss issues with others working in the industry as well as gaining expert advice.”

Pure and Birkett Long will be holding further HR employment law seminars in 2017, both in Essex and across the Eastern region. For more information, contact Ben Farrow on: ben.farrow@prs.uk.com
