Local businesses pitted their wits against each other at the Pure Resourcing Solutions (Pure) Essex charity quiz night on Wednesday 10^th April in Chelmsford, raising over £900 for The J’s Hospice.

Thirteen teams from businesses in Essex gathered at the Ivory Rooms in Billericay for an evening of friendly rivalry and to support the Chelmsford-based charity, which provides respite care services for young adults with life limiting and terminal conditions.

Over 90 masterminds from organisations such as Gilbarco Veeder Root, based in Basildon, Hallmark Care Homes, from Billericay and Konica Minolta, from Basildon, came together to fight it out for the top prize of champagne.

Teams such as “Plastic Fantastics” from Playmobil and “Birkett Long Shots” from Birkett Long turned Einstein for the evening to answer brain-busting questions. But it was “Quizzy Rascals” from Mullis & Peake, based in Romford, who put in a sparkling performance to claim the quiz crown. A raffle also proved popular with superb prizes including Benefit Cosmetics, iTunes vouchers, a giant Easter egg and a vintage bottle of champagne.

Ian Walters, Pure’s Managing Director, says, “The quiz night was a great success and I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the businesses that came along. The money everyone helped raise on the night brings our overall fundraising total for The J’s Hospice to a fantastic £6,747. All teams were amazing in demonstrating their generosity - and intelligence – for a highly regarded charity.”
