Chelmsford recruitment consultancy employees Ben Farrow and Sarah McKee-Harris successfully completed the Colchester Half Marathon on Sunday 17^th March, raising more than £850 for The J’s Hospice – the respite care and hospice service for young adults with life limiting and terminal conditions in Essex.

The runners from Pure Resourcing Solutions (Pure) clinched their marathon medals after sweating it out for 13 miles in just over two hours. Ben and Sarah also smashed their fundraising target by £350 for the charity based in Chelmsford.

“Everyone at Pure is very proud of Ben and Sarah’s achievement in raising such a fantastic amount for The J’s Hospice. All of our charity partnerships mean a lot to us and we genuinely want to make a positive impact on the communities where our clients and candidates live and work. We’re looking forward to many more fundraising activities planned throughout the year.”

Dominique Brunning, Fundraising Manager at The J’s Hospice, said:

“We’d like to say congratulations to Ben and Sarah and a huge thank you for their marvellous support. Without fundraising efforts like this, we wouldn’t be able to continue providing specialist support for young people such as end of life care, respite care and psychosocial care in the comfort of the patient’s own home.”

Sarah, HR Recruitment Consultant at Pure, said:

“I’m thrilled to have run the half marathon for The J’s Hospice. Although the cold weather made it challenging, fellow runners helped get me through the toughest parts! And the hard work was worth it to help such a wonderful cause.”

Ben, Office and HR Recruitment Manager at Pure, said:

“The half marathon certainly wasn’t a walk in the park! Running up North Hill in Colchester was very hard going, but the reward came when I spotted the finish line. Of course, it’s great to know that our challenge has raised money to help young people in our county.”

The half marathon brings the total that Pure has raised for The J’s Hospice so far to around £4,350.
