Charity Auction raises more Funds for the J’s Hospice

Pure Resourcing Solution’s (Pure’s) Chelmsford office held a highly successful internal auction for staff on Friday 11th October in order to raise funds for  the J’s Hospice - a respite care and hospice service for young adults with life limiting and terminal conditions in Essex.

The auction, which raised in excess of £1,100 for the Chelmsford based charity, featured a wide variety of different prizes ranging from a zip up blazer signed by Olympian James Degale to tickets for a day out in Colchester Zoo. Some of the more unique offerings up for auction on the day also included a voucher for a boat trip on Paper Mill Lock and a date with Pure recruitment consultant Mark Wishart which attracted the highest bid of £85!

In total Pure have raised in the region of £6,000 for the charity since fundraising began around three years ago and this latest charity auction came less than a week after the Chelmsford recruitment manager Ben Farrow raised £572.50 by running in the London Royal Park’s Half Marathon.

Ben said: “We decided to organise a charity auction and the Chelmsford team got the whole community involved by speaking with local businesses and our clients to gather donations for auction. These items were then bid on by our Pure employees and we ended up beating our £1,000 fundraising target.

“We will definitely be looking to do the auction again and our next fundraiser for the J’s Hospice will be our quiz night early next year. It really is great to be able to give something back to a worthwhile cause in the Chelmsford area.”
