Strengthening the marketing and communications team at Girlguiding Anglia
Read how our consultant helped charity Girlguiding Anglia find both temporary and permanent recruitment solutions to strengthen the marketing and communications team and enable them to complete a range of demanding projects.
About
Girlguiding Anglia is a region of Girlguiding which covers twelve counties across the East of England and has its head office based in Coltishall, Norfolk. Girlguiding is the largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women in the UK. It is part of a worldwide movement which enables girls and young women to fulfil their potential and to take an active and responsible role in society through its distinctive, stimulating and enjoyable programme of activities delivered by trained volunteer leaders. Its vision is to have sufficient volunteer leaders to enable every girl and young women to have the opportunity to join them.
Challenge
Bonnie Dillaway, Marketing, Communications and Events Manager at Girlguiding Anglia was tasked with leading the completion of a number of demanding projects for the charity throughout 2018. To be able to successfully deliver these activities, Bonnie required additional resources within her team that focussed on marketing and communications as well as website management and content writing.
Bonnie said, “I was looking for support, guidance and advice on my recruitment needs. I wanted to ensure that I found the right candidates but I also needed to find them in an agreeable space of time.”
Solution
Girlguiding Anglia’s CEO Julia Haig recommended Pure to Bonnie, having previously worked with the professional recruitment specialists. Pure’s senior consultant Claire Bush contacted Bonnie to discuss what she needed and how Pure could support her.
Bonnie added: “I needed an agency to be honest as to whether they had suitable candidates who would fit with the organisation as well as hold the right skill set. Claire was professional, interested and reassuring. She understood the sense of urgency but remained committed to finding us the most suitable candidates.”
Claire was able to support Bonnie to strengthen her team through the recruitment of an Assistant Communications Officer, Digital Project Coordinator and Social Media Administrator, among others.
Benefit
Pure was able to provide a variety of different recruitment solutions for Bonnie and her team, sourcing not only permanent additions to the team but also several high-calibre temporary workers who were able to support the delivery of specific projects and increase resources during the challenging year.
Bonnie said: “The positive support we received from Pure meant we found some great people to join our team full time and also some great temporary candidates who made a real difference and positive contribution to the changing demands we were facing. Together we were able to complete the complex projects and build a stronger team who will continue to support our colleagues and members across Girlguiding Anglia. I’ve worked with other recruitment agencies in previous roles, but I have never found a team to be quite so accommodating, positive and reassuring before. It has been a pleasure to work with Pure.”
Over the last 12 months, Pure has also supported Girlguiding Anglia with the recruitment of an interim Finance Manager, temporary finance administrators and an Assistant Manager.
