Pure presents further donation to Brightstars charity in Bury St Edmunds

Professional recruitment specialists Pure has provided further financial support to its nominated charity of Brightstars, based in Bury St Edmunds, with a cheque donation of £645 raised through ticket sales to its Best Employers Eastern Region events.

Pure has supported Brightstars since it was first founded in 2015 and this latest donation brings the total raised for the charity so far to £2,290.

Brightstars, set up by business transformation expert Steve Turpie and his wife Paula, is a Saturday play group for children and young people with additional needs. Clare Fuller, Marketing Manager at Pure, visited the Saturday Club, held at Riverwalk School, to present the cheque and find out more about how Pure’s previous donations have helped to support the charity’s work. As well as fundraising, two members of the Pure team have also been volunteering at the Saturday sessions.

Steve Turpie said: “The ongoing support from Pure means a great deal to us. It’s not just about the money. Having members of the team give up their own valuable time to help us at the club is also fantastic. We are blessed to have them working with us and to have Pure’s support overall. They are helping us to make a massive positive impact on local children, and on their parents and carers.”

Lynn Walters, Director at Pure said: “Steve has always been a fantastic supporter of the Best Employers Eastern Region initiative. He’s regularly donated his time to be a guest speaker at events and his insights have proved inspirational to many local employers. When we first heard his own inspiring story of the charity he was setting up we were keen to support him in return. As part of our values as an organisation, we believe in supporting and taking part in the communities that surround us. We’ve always worked to support local organisations which provide valuable support and we’re proud to include Brightstars as one of our nominated charities.”

Pure, which has offices in Ipswich, Cambridge, Norwich and Chelmsford, founded The Best Employers Eastern Region initiative in conjunction with people development and psychometrics experts eras ltd. The initiative includes innovative conferences designed to support local organisations to create inspiring, innovative and engaging places to work. A proportion of the ticket sales from recent events have been split between Brightstars, as Pure’s nominated charity, and West Suffolk cardiac support group Upbeat Heart as eras ltd’s chosen charity.
