Annual charity quiz night for Essex businesses raises over £1,700 for two Chelmsford charities

The battle of the brains, organised by professional recruitment specialists Pure, saw 23 teams from organisations across the county pitting their wits against each other. The teams included people from Bare Escentuals, Grant Thornton and The Breyer Group, and there was plenty of friendly rivalry on the night. The overall winners were a team from Lakehouse, with each team member presented with a chocolate collection from Hotel Chocolat and a bottle of Adnams Prosecco each.

The event, held at the Holiday Inn in Basildon, also included a raffle to help raise further funds with prizes all kindly donated by local businesses.

Ben Farrow, Associate Director and Manager of Pure’s Chelmsford Office, said: “Our annual charity quiz nights have always been extremely well supported. It’s a fantastic way for local businesses to come together, support good causes and to have fun at the same time. I would like to thank everyone who attended, donated and contributed so generously to the event. We hope to see you all again next year.”

The J’s Hospice, based in Great Baddow, Chelmsford, provides respite and hospice care services for young adults aged between 16 and 40 who are suffering with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. The second charity which will benefit is Kids Inspire, also based in Chelmsford. This organisation helps to heal the wounds of trauma and to reconnect young people with both themselves and society through mentoring, therapy, training and activity packages.

Last year’s Chelmsford quiz night also raised over £1,250 for the same two local charities. Pure’s annual quiz nights, held at all four offices throughout the year, are just one of the many charity events the professional recruitment specialists for the East of England run throughout the year.
