How company values help to create high performing and engaged employees

At Pure, we’ve developed a set of company values which we believe capture the very essence of the way we like to work. They are based on putting people, both our employees and our clients, at the very heart of the business: and living by these values has been instrumental in Pure being celebrated with two people development focussed awards in 2015.

We’re delighted to have been awarded a silver Investors in People award earlier this year. More recently we also won the regional People Development Award at the British Chamber of Commerce Awards, and went through to represent the region at the national finals.

We’re proud that our values are based around making Pure a rewarding and positive place to work. But this commitment has also benefited the business as a whole. Our employees are engaged, motivated, and seen as trusted experts in their field. This has helped our business to grow and enabled us to retain our talented people, with a less than 5% staff turnover. Here are our company values, and just some examples of how they are helping us to be an award-winning and successful business.

1. Pure Supports

We’ve created a supportive environment where people can work flexibly and individual training needs are assessed to ensure that everyone fulfils their potential. This includes a variety of initiatives to encourage individual performance and a strong, learning and development culture including our graduate training scheme and Apprenticeships. We also support employee wellbeing by providing a range of benefits including fruit deliveries, yoga classes and workshops on mindfulness.

2. Pure Teamwork

We believe in the power of teamwork and have created a culture where this can be fostered. Despite the Pure team being split across four different offices our intranet brings people together every day, allowing them to share birthday shout outs, tops tips, interesting news and to welcome new colleagues.  Our intranet was awarded the “Most stunningly visual cultured lived out loud” Award by our intranet providers, Jostle, for an intranet that celebrates their people, reflecting knowledge and value. Our commitment to charity work also brings together our teams as they take on fundraising challenges, which this year have included the Three Peaks Challenge, Cambridge Chariots of Fire Race and the Ipswich Colour Dash.

 3. Pure Rewards

We’re committed to making Pure a rewarding and positive place to work. We reward our hard working team members with initiatives including a half day holiday on their birthday, and also with an extra 2 weeks paid holiday for every five years of service. We also have a strong commitment to charity work and reward team member’s fundraising or volunteering efforts. After two years of service they are offered up to 5 additional days leave to raise money or to support a charity. We also kick start their fundraising with a one off donation of £250.

4. Pure Innovates

We strive to be forward thinking and innovative, with an eye to the future. We encourage all our team members to provide new ideas and these have helped us to launch a number of added-value initiatives including our Best Employers Eastern Region campaign, Women's Leadership Programme and Compare My Salary service. These not only give the opportunity to support and work with clients and candidates, over and above our recruitment service, but also distinguishes us from other recruitment agencies.

5. Pure Quality

To ensure high quality results we put integrity and trust at the core of everything we do. By ensuring all our people are fully trained in all aspects of their role they are equipped to provide high quality, consultative solutions, and are motivated to go the extra mile for clients and candidates alike. We focus on developing long term relationships as trusted advisers.

6. Pure Delivers

By putting people at the heart of our business our employees have the energy and determination to deliver the best results. We empower them by providing a full understanding of our business objectives and ensure each person within our teams understands how they individually contribute to the overall success. As a result 96% of our clients have rated us good or excellent.
