Chelmsford recruitment consultants volunteer at town’s homeless shelter

A team of recruitment consultants from Pure Resourcing Solutions in Chelmsford have spent two days painting and decorating the homeless shelter run by Chelmsford CHESS.

Split into two teams of five, the Pure team has helped to make the shelter on George Street even more welcoming for those using the essential support service. The idea to volunteer for the worthwhile cause was suggested as an alternative to the office Secret Santa.

Ben Farrow, Manager at Pure Chelmsford, explained: “We decided that instead of giving presents to each other, we wanted to give a gift which would make a lasting difference. We all agreed that we would each donate our time to a charity instead.”

The work was carried out over 15th and 16th December and the Pure team worked hard to transform several different areas of the building which were in need of redecoration. This allowed those running the charity to concentrate their time on delivering essential support services to homeless people in Chelmsford and across Essex as a whole.

Ben added: “We were delighted when CHESS gratefully accepted our offer of support. The issue of homelessness is especially poignant at Christmas and this fantastic charity works extremely hard to help people in our town. We had great fun working together and it was extremely rewarding to see the results of our handiwork.”
