Pure Resourcing Solutions Staff Take on Marathon Challenge for The J’s Hospice
Two budding runners, Ben Farrow and Sarah McKee-Harris from Pure Resourcing Solutions (Pure) in Chelmsford, are in training for the Colchester Half Marathon on Sunday 17th March to raise money for The J’s Hospice.
The recruitment consultancy employees have the extra task of recruiting sponsors to raise funds for the Chelmsford-based hospice and respite care service for young adults with life limiting and terminal conditions throughout the County of Essex.
Currently pounding the pavements in preparation for the challenge, HR Recruitment Consultant at Pure, Sarah, said:
“I joined the Colchester Half Marathon Facebook page and built up a great network of fellow runners in Essex to help with training. I’m now feeling prepared and I really hope we can hit our £500 fundraising target for The J’s Hospice!”
Ben, Office and HR Recruitment Manager at Pure, said:
“Our training motto is ‘move more, eat less’! So, I’ve given up junk food and I’ve been running about nine miles a few times a week. I’m really looking forward to the challenge, but dreading the last few miles since I’ll probably be pretty exhausted by then.”
Ian Walters, Pure’s Managing Director, said:
“Everyone at Pure is thrilled that Ben and Sarah are running in aid of The J’s Hospice. We are very proud to support this fantastic charity, which helps to fill the gap in services for disadvantaged young adults in Essex.”
Dominique Brunning, Fundraising Manager at The J’s Hospice, said:
“Our ongoing partnership with Pure is very important to us. Without such support we wouldn’t be able to provide specialist support including end of life care, respite care and psychosocial care in the comfort of the patient’s own home. Our aim is to build the first hospice in the East of England for young adults, so we need companies like Pure to get involved and raise vital funds.”

Starting at 9am at Weston Homes Community Stadium in Colchester on 17th March, runners will follow a circular route through the historic town centre and countryside, and back to the stadium.
The half marathon is just one activity in a year of fundraising by Pure, which has previously raised approximately £3,500 for The J’s Hospice. The company has more charity events planned in Norwich, Ipswich, Cambridge and Chelmsford to raise money for charities in the East of England.
