Essex Businesses Go Head To Head in Charity Quiz for The J’s Hospice
Local businesses pitted their wits against each other at the first ever Pure Resourcing Solutions (Pure) Essex charity quiz night on Wednesday 6th March in Chelmsford, raising £730 for The J’s Hospice.
Nine teams from businesses in Essex gathered at the Vetro Bar in Billericay for an evening of friendly rivalry and to support the Chelmsford-based charity, which provides respite care services for young adults with life limiting and terminal conditions.
Teams such as ‘The Saga Louts’ and ‘Movers and Groovers’ turned Einstein for the evening to answer brain-busting questions. But it was ‘The Diamonds’ from Hallmark Care Homes in Billericay who put in a sparkling performance to claim the quiz crown. A raffle also proved popular with superb prizes including Benefit cosmetics, a round of golf for four people at Warren Golf Club and a £50 Totes voucher.
Ian Walters, Pure’s Managing Director, says,
“The quiz night was a great success and I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the businesses that came along. The money everyone helped raise on the night brings our overall fundraising total for The J’s Hospice to a fantastic £4,275 and we plan to raise even more this year through other charity events such as the Chelmsford half Marathon.”
Dominique Brunning, Fundraising Manager at The J’s Hospice, says,
“On behalf of everyone at The J’s Hospice, I’d like to thank Pure and the quiz teams for supporting us. We rely on fundraising like this to continue providing services for young adults suffering from conditions such as Huntington’s disease, Rett’s syndrome and cancer in their own homes across Essex.”
One of East of England’s leading recruitment consultancy businesses, Pure is committed to its charity partners across the region and has raised around £55,000 to date.
