Battle of the Brains for Norfolk Businesses

Over 150 people from companies across Norfolk took part in a battle to be crowned the brainiest business at Pure Resourcing Solutions annual charity quiz in Norwich and raised over £1,710.00 for East Anglia Children's Hospices (EACH).

22 businesses took part in the fundraising event held at Dunston Hall in Norwich on Thursday evening (8 March). The result was a definite air of competitive spirit as 40 teams of four went head-to-head to test their knowledge on subjects including sport, history, music and current affairs. This is the third year the Norwich branch of recruitment specialists Pure Resourcing Solutions has organised the quiz night to bring local businesses together in aid of its chosen charity. Danielle Gravestock from EACH attended the event to give a short presentation about the charity's work on the Treehouse Appeal to build and equip a new children's hospice in Ipswich, and to thank Pure Resourcing Solutions for its ongoing support over the last 10 years.

After nine hard fought rounds the team from Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust notched up the most correct answers to be crowned the 2012 quiz champions, beating off The John Innes Centre and last year's third place team Smithfield Foods who again came third. The team winning team was made up of Phil Humphrey, Jason Hollidge, Alan Dawson and Andy Agent.

The victors were presented with a bottle of champagne by Joseph O'Sullivan from Pure Resourcing Solutions and Danielle Gravestock from EACH. Joseph O'Sullivan, Office Manager at Norwich Pure Resourcing Solutions, said:

"This year's quiz has been extra special because it is Pure Resourcing Solutions ten year anniversary and our tenth year raising money for EACH as our chosen charity. We started organising the fundraising quiz nights in Norwich three years ago as part of our ongoing support for the charity. Across the company as a whole we have already raised over £40,000 for EACH. This year all four offices have been challenged to help raise another £10,000 to bring the total to £50,000 in time for our ten year anniversary in September. I'm delighted that our event raised £1710.00 towards this target.""
