I am recruiting for a SHEQ Coordinator for my client based in Diss.  This is a full time, permanent position and an immediate start is available for the right candidate.  

The SHEQ Advisor is responsible for supporting the development, delivery and continuous improvement of SHEQ systems to ensure that the company meets legislative, customer and best practice standards, as well as working alongside colleagues to drive pro acive reporting for the site in the UK.  

Key responsibilities: 

  • Following up top level EHS standards throughout the business.  
  • Ensure the business is legally compliant and kept up to date with applicable changes in EU and local legislation.  
  • To follow top level quality standards throughout the business and with customers and suppliers.  
  • Supporting the business to continuously improve Behavioural Safety and Unsafe Situation Reporting culture across the business. 
  • Supporting the quality and process continuous improvement programme working closely with the departmental teams across the business 
  • Supporting the business to propose and assist in the delivery of lean manufacturing and business improvement techniques.  
  • To support the programme of internal QA and EHS audits 
  • Ensuring all sites are compliant with policies, practices and procedures.  
  • Liaising with the external auditors as and when required 
  • Coordinate the activities of the EHS committee and recognise the need for the EHS committee to be a three-way communication tool and a focal point for EHS improvement across the business.  
  • Support the business to ensure risk assessments, COSHH assessments and emergency response processes are in place and reviewed as required.  
  • Support the business in collating data required for the business
  • Coordinate and conduct where applicable, emergency response training including fire drills and spillage control.  
  • Coordinate the completion of SHEQ monthly reporting in to the senior management team.  

Required skills and experience: 

  • A minimum of IOSH Managing Safely awarded in the last three years or equivalent Health and Safety qualification 
  • Working experience coordinating SHEQ activities 
  • Previous responsibility for quality assurance in a manufacturing or engineering environment 
  • Working experience of internal and/or customer audits 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 
As well as the above, NEBOSH qualifications and fire safety certificates would be an advantage.  This is however, not essential.

Working hours are 37.5 hours a week and condensed hours can be arranged for an early Friday finish.  Once trained and embedded, there is a potential for some hybrid working as well.
