Are you an experienced planner with FMCG experience?  Do you have the ability to lead the development of a high end, end to end planning function?  

 
I am recruiting for my client based in Thetford who are looking for a Senior Planner to lead a successful function.  You will be responible for producing an efficient rolling plan for production, maintaining adequate stock levels and minimising change overs while achieving the highest possible customer service level.  


Job Responsibilities

 

  • Produce an efficient rolling plan, maintaining adequate stock levels to customers in line with order book, historical ordering pattern and line performance
  • Focus on service level gains and inventory reduction through forecast accuracy improvement to achieve target customer service level of 99.0%.
  • Leadership of the development and implementation of a comprehensive forecasting and production planning model which increases customer service levels and improves operational efficiencies
  • Ownership of forward line capacity model to identify future capex requirements
  • Integration of customer services team to develop high performance, end to end planning function
  • Liaise with production managers daily ensuring most efficient running orders and minimising line changes to the agreed plan.
  • Monitor progress against the agreed plan and troubleshoot any issues, ensuring any customers impacted are notified as early as possible.
  • Liaise with Procurement team to ensure 100% availability of raw materials and packaging to meet the production plan, as well as owning forward chemical procurement plan
  • Leadership of the development and implementation of a comprehensive forecasting and production planning model which increases customer service levels and improves operational efficiencies
  • Development and identification of weekly planning KPI's and reports
  • Liaise with the Logistics Manager regarding shelf life and slow-moving stock to minimise any potential write offs and customer shortages.
  • Maintain good relationships across the business i.e., regularly reviewing stock profile with commercial and technical departments and highlighting any potential risks.
  • Manage with precision Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and calculate Overall Equipment Effectiveness(OEE) in order to forecast daily capacity and efficiency planning

  • Strong relationship building skills 
  • The ability to multi task and problem solve.  
  • Proven numerical and statistical ability
  • Good literacy skills
  • IT literate including MS Office suite and ERP systems experience.
  • A 'hands on' pro-active attitude and a 'go look see' style.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.  
  • Planning experience within an FMCG environment
