Press & PR Officer, Norwich, London – agile and flexible working, £30,£35k 
 
Our client specialises in research, analysis, consulting, and training in the energy markets, and they are looking for a Press & PR Officer to join their Marketing team.


The Press & PR Officer will be responsible for proactively building and developing the organisations media relations. It includes keeping abreast of emerging and creative approaches in PR and press to help extend our reach and ensure our campaigns are relevant to our target audiences. You will act as the Company’s main contact for its media coverage, from preparing press releases to liaising with media contacts and monitoring media coverage of the organisation. 

The location:

This role can be based in Norwich, London, or working from home as part of their commitment to agile and flexible working.
Key Responsibilities
  • Researching, writing, and distributing press releases
  • Generating, implementing, and overseeing media campaigns 
  • Working alongside the marketing team to ensure media plans support the planned marketing campaigns
  • Monitoring and ensuring a prompt and effective media relations response to breaking industry news
  • Ensuring that our vision and insight is incorporated into all communications, including external media coverage and social media
  • Collating, analysing, and reporting on media coverage
  • Seek out and maximise proactive media opportunities 
  • Maintain and build the list of journalists
  • Assist with copywriting, coordinating and collating content 
  • Producing relevant and engaging content across a range of digital channels
  • Evaluating the impact and return on investment of all communications and PR activity ensuring a target driven approach to communications
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the organisation to assist in the delivery of effective communication strategies
  • Deal effectively with internal and external queries to ensure stakeholder’s needs are met
  • Take initiative to identify opportunities for news coverage of industry updates and developments
  • Track competitor activity by keeping abreast of market changes and media coverage generated by competitors
  • Streamlining, improving, and developing current/new processes to continually strive towards the goals of the team and the wider business
Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Excellent network and relationship building skills with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders of all levels
  • High command of written English with copy and proof-reading accuracy
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms

  • Ability to think commercially within your role to drive forward the success of the business through press and PR
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Dynamic and creative approach to day-to-day work and wider projects
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Confident and outgoing personality
