I am recruiting for a brand new position as Health and Safety Manager in Kings Lynn.  

The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for managing Health and Safety across the company and creating a positive safety culture while ensuring regulatory compliance.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Taking the lead in all Health and Safety matters including leading the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee 
  • Be the principle source of advice and guidance on safety matters to managers and staff 
  • Build and sustain a positive Safety Culture 
  • Ensure compliance with legal obligations 
  • Monitor compliance with the company's Health and Safety policies and report to the Board and the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee 
  • Work with managers and team leaders to promote safe working and accident prevention 
  • Review Health and Safety policies and put forward recommendations to the Committee 
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to discover causes and make recommendations for future preventative measures 
  • Gather statistics relating to Health and Safety and report to the Board and the committee 
  • Inspect premises, equipment and working practices to ensure compliance 
  • Oversee the training of managers and staff in relation to Health and Safety 
  • Ensure PPE is issues, kept in good condition and used correctly 
  • Oversee the purchasing and issue of safety related equipment and PPE 
  • Regularly review risk assessment and make recommendations to the Health Safety and Wellbeing Committee 
  • Liaise with HSE or other enforcement bodies as necessary 
  • Oversee preventative maintenance of safety critical equipment

Requirements for the role: 

  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation 
  • Experience working and managing a disperse workforce 
  • Ability to manage the Health and Safety of lone workers 
  • NEBOSH or similar 

As well as the above, the ideal candidate will have experience managing Health and Safety across multi sites and will need to have enthusiasm and the ability to influence employees of all levels.  

This is a full time, permanent position and the position will be mostly lone working across sites with office presence required weekly or where necessary.
