Head of Reward

Hybrid working, 2 days a week on site

Reporting to the HR Director, this role is responsible for all aspects of compensation and benefits for a large, complex, matrix organisation based in Cambridge.
This role will be covering a secondment in the reward team for a period of 3 years, you will be required to be on site 2 days a week.
We are looking for an established Reward Leader who has experience in both compensation and benefits and who enjoys managing and leading a team.
The Head of Reward is responsible for the design and delivery of the organisation’s reward, recognition and associated job evaluation strategy, key components of the People Strategy.  Taking the overall lead on several reward-related projects and contributing to other HR-wide initiatives which require reward expertise is a critical element of the role. 
The Head of Reward needs to achieve an effective balance between leading on the strategic and project-related dimensions of the role whilst at the same time ensuring close oversight of the delivery of a number of key operational activities managed by the Reward Team including: reward and progression schemes, benefits, job evaluation (grading) and report production (eg equality reports).
About you?
You will be degree educated,  highly numerate, enjoy working with excel to a high standard and be able to write reward related reports for your stakeholders.  Experience of working with a large public sector organisation would be a real advantage for this role as you will need to be able to navigate a complex operating model managing multiple stakeholders. The organisation is going through a period of exciting change and transformation, any experience of change management will be advantageous.
