A truly exceptional opportunity to join one of Cambroidgei's most exciting early stage software businesses to lead IT.

Having gone through rapid growth and with 150 employee's this key senior management role will lead the development of the IT strategy, budget and road-map to ensure the right investment and development of systems to match the continued growth of the organisation internationally. 

Duties will include:
  • Ownership of the IT function working as part of the senior management team
  • Development of a new IT strategy, road map and budget
  • Management and development of the IT team
  • Management of 3rd party suppliers for IT services
  • Full responsibility for all areas of IT - Support, projects, infrastructure, data and security etc...

What we are looking for:
  • Proven track record in IT with a growing business
  • Ownership and management of the entire IT function
  • Ability to present business cases and work with the board on developing a future proof IT strategy
  • Ideally experience supporting a software/technology related business 
  • Experience across a board range of infrastructure and IT systems - Security experience essential
  • Hands on approach with a willingness to get stuck in at ground level as well as working with the senior management team and board
  • Happy to be on site 4 days a week to support the business 
The current IT setup:
  • All employees and contractors have Windows installs, O365 licenses, email (handled and archived by Mimecast) and use Teams. Additionally, employees will use additional software tools relevant to their skill set and job function.
  • Some Linux machines either running Ubuntu or Debian
  • Employees are issued with a laptop by default – typically i5 as basic, i7 for firmware, i7+dedicated graphics for CAD. Most desks have USB-C/Thunderbolt docks and dual monitors.
  • Three tiers of data on-site through a physical file server with a combination of external SAN and NAS drives:
  • Backup of the on-site main read-write mission-critical drive is provided by a Unitrends appliance. Archive resilience is provided by duplication of data to AWS Glacier.
  • There are shared access (RDP) machines for high-value node-locked license software or otherwise requiring a high standard of performance (e.g. MATLAB and ANSYS)
  • Some specialist/specific software on local virtual servers, some hosted on GitHub. Both systems have CI frameworks.
  • CyberEssentials certification, but no other relevant standards (e.g. CyberEssentials Plus, ISO 27001, ISO 22301)
