This fast paced growing business are looking for an experienced qualified Financial Accountant to join their well established Finance team.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of the Financial Statements of the group, preparation of the group consolidation and the co-ordination of audit schedules whilst liaising with the external group auditors. This will be a pivotable role in the finance department, as it will also be accountable for creating internal audit processes, maintaining fixed asset schedules and training practices in financial procedures where necessary.

Main responsibilities include

Prepare the statutory annual financial statements for group companies and consolidated levels using IRIS statutory accounting software.
Ensuring pre-completion trial balance and supporting documentation is available for any acquisitions, and liaise with Vendors for any audit queries.
Maintenance / reconciliation of all acquisition / pre acquisition codes withing the trial balance, and monitoring deferred consideration/ earnout payments.
Liaising with Auditors to respond to any audit queries.
Creating an internal audit function for deep diving balance sheet reconciliations and process reviews
Maintenance of fixed asset schedules on a monthly basis, including adding new assets to the register and posting depreciation.


Skills Required

Strong technical knowledge of both company and group consolidated financial statements.
Structured, methodical approach routine activity.
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
Appreciation for the importance of timely, complete and accurate tasks.
A strong team player who is willing to actively work across the team adopting a can do and flexible attitude.
Strong interpersonal skills, who can influence people without direct line management.
Strong communication skills to communicate with both financial and non-financial staff both internally and externally to the business.
Team player with strong relationship building skills both internally and externally.

Qualifications And Experience Required

Qualified Accountant, ideally ACCA or ACA
Preparation of Financial statements including group + consolidation under FRS102
Preparation of acquisition accounting entries for new purchases
Practice background is desirable, but not essential
