Pure is partnering with a scientific research organisation in their search for a Site Facilities Engineer for one of their flagship facilities. This will be a varied role and requires a competent Mechanical Engineer who has ideally worked with a range of building services equipment. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will work in tandem to ensure timely support to the business and limit potential downtime.
You will be first responder with elements of planned preventive maintenance (PPMs) / scheduled servicing, routine checks, and repairs, to issues on facilities mechanical assets. These include water systems (basic plumbing), calorifiers, expansion vessels, heating systems, air handling units, air conditioning, compressed air systems, as well as work on related fans, motors, dampers, and ductwork. Where required, these works will be supported by an external contractor.
Core duties include:
  • Conducting installations, repairs and preventive maintenance to property, facilities, plant, and equipment (excluding specialist lab equipment)
  • Ensuring compliance of designated site systems to legal and site standards
  • To be responsible for relevant service contract visits, liaising with external contractors to arrange both service visits and call outs as required
  • To monitor designated contractor works on site to ensure they are carried out to timescale, quality, site health & safety, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • To carry out maintenance work throughout the site in accordance with planned preventative maintenance schedule
  • To produce specifications for owned tasks and functions as required, and to complete task reports as requested
