Working for this large, well established company in St Neots you will
  • Produce technical operation and maintenance manuals for company manufactured engineering systems
  • Provide a high quality, comprehensive, accurate and timely document administration service for the department
  • Support the achievement of department objectives and the provision of superior service in a high quality, timely, cost-effective and resource-efficient way.
  • Main Objectives for this role are too build and maintain a good working knowledge of company products and services, customers, the department and team's working practices, and the computer software to perform the role efficiently and effectively.

  • Use knowledge, information and skills in planning and working for the department.
  • Share ideas and suggestions for improvements.
  • Agree relevant individual/personal objectives, targets and success criteria for assigned activities and own area of work, participating in relevant training and development and asking for support as required.
  • Develop and maintain a system to identify and specify customer/end user technical operations and/or maintenance manuals as requested.
  • Define the appropriate type, content and formatting of engineering systems manuals (with support from the responsible engineer) to meet the customers' specifications in conjunction with the relevant engineer.
  • Prepare engineering systems manuals including the colation of datasheets and generating the manual text in conjunction with the relevant engineer and delivering within the agreed timescales.
  • Work with the department in designing and implementing revised administration procedures and where necessary ensure all inter-related processes are revised.
  • Ensure easy, complete access of relevant data for the department by organising and maintaining files.
  • Issue and maintain revision controlled documents against all Engineering Contracts; files, drawing, parts lists, special procedures, special orders
  • Create document requirements lists within the document management system (DOCS) with data extracted from SAP bills of materials.
  • Monitor and record all document transactions issued internally and externally within the documents database, ensuring up to date visibility of all transactions.
  • Communicate regularly with other members of the department/business ensuring rapid two-way flow of information and contribution to effective team working.
  • Ensure complete access of relevant information/materials by organising and maintaining files and work area (use of engineering portal).
  • Support the engineering group leadership team with reporting and miscellaneous administration tasks as required.
