We are working with one of our longstanding ecommerce clients in Norwich to support their search for a Business Intelligence and Data Architect specialist to take on a huge data transformation project.

The business is investing heavily in their systems and infrastructure, including an overhaul of the current Management Information and reporting systems, Data Architecture and Infrastructure. Currently the business has a number regular reports, delivered via SQL Server and SSRS, across multiple data warehouses, and various data feeds from different systems (finance, HR, CRM etc).

As the business is tranforming it's business operation, the requirements from the data sets, and the overall system architecture is changing and genuine business intelligence is required.

This is where you come in! You will be a hands-on data expert, ideally with experience across a range of data validation, visualisation and manipulation tools, as well as data design, architecture and master control knowledge. The business will look to deliver a ‘self-service’ data solution that fits all functions across the group, whether that is a devolved or centralised group structure.

You will lead a small team in developing their skills through this transformation, both from a personal and technical perspective. The aim is to work closely with stakeholders across the business to challenge the status quo, to ensure that data request are relevant, and actionable. You will also work through data with them to understand areas of commercial opportunity for revenue, cost saving, efficiency etc.

Skills required:
Development of reporting with SQL Server, SSRS, PowerBI, Tableau, Qlikview etc.
Programming - DAX (and M) for PowerBI would be really useful.
Data modelling and architectural design, knowing what good looks like.
Data validation to ensure information is accurate.
Deliver reporting solutions, including offering advice and guidance on how to get the most from the data.
Experience with business analysis and projects advantageous.
Strong communication and stakeholder management experience with the ability to deal with people at all levels.
Leadership and coaching skills to support the growth, recruitment and development of the team as the business and function grows.

This is a really great chance to get your teeth stuck in to a massive organisational and cultural transformation project. The role would suit an experienced hands on data architect, or someone looking to take a step in to a more senior data position. In return you will be given a great salary and benefits, flexible working and a relaxed working environment. With all the change going on you will be trusted and supported in driving the change within the data arena, and backed with the decisions you make.
