A exceptional opportunity join an early stage EdTech start up on the outskirts of Cambridge.

This is a broad CTO role looking for a senior technologist who has commercial experience but still "close to the code"

We’re looking for a highly skilled engineer who can work fluently in a dotnet environment across the full stack, from design and development to containerized deployment. The business has elements in its product portfolio that work cross platform, on the web and on desktop and handheld devices. You will have a large influence over the technical direction of the company and the product’s development.

We are looking for the following:
  • You’re an experienced software engineer who has built web applications at scale, and has experience of building user interfaces in different technologies.
  • You thrive on solving problems from start to finish.
  • You enjoy working with ambiguity where you have options to explore and create.
  • You have experience leading a team and want to help build and develop the team around you by mentoring other members of the engineering team, providing technical guidance and support.
  • You take pride in creating well-structured and well tested software.
  • You enjoy optimising, automating and improving existing code and processes and look for these opportunities as part of your normal routine.
  • You are an excellent communicator and an active brand ambassador.
  • You are able to respond to and resolve DR issues in many time-zones.
  • You understand and have worked within compliance controls (e.g., GDPR, PCI, ISO IEC 27001).
Technology Stack/Experience - Some of the following would be useful:
  • C# dotnet cross platform (EF Core, Web API, SignalR, Desktop)
  • WPF / XAML
  • js / Typescript / Sass
  • Kubernetes and Docker Compose
  • SQL Server performance tuning
  • OAuth2 / Open Id Connect
  • NGINX
Location and Compensation
  • Remote/hybrid working available . The UK hub is in Cambridge where you will be expected to work 2-3 days a month.
  • £80,000 – £100,000 pa depending on experience
  • Company share/equity options scheme
