An exciting growing business in Aldeburgh are looking for an Accounts Assistant to help with growth and development of the business.
You will be part of a Finance team, taking responsibility of the purchase ledger function and supporting in other transactional duties.
  • Overall ownership and responsibility for the purchase ledger to ensure all invoices processed in a timely manner.
  • Set up new suppliers and keep existing account details up to date.
  • Check supplier VAT registration numbers on the HMRC website on creation and periodically thereafter.
  • Where invoices have come through, match to GRN and process for payment.
  • Responsibility for preparing the weekly payment run, ensuring that payments are in line with terms, statements are up to date.
  • Ensure ledger accounts are reconciled and accurate. 
  • Posting and allocating direct debit payments to purchase ledger accounts
  • Responsibility for closing the purchase ledger to agreed timescales.
  • Reconciliation of the purchase ledger to nominal ledger.
  • Running month end purchase ledger reports to include, but not limited to, aged creditors, debit balances and supplier turnover.
  • Reconciliation of the intercompany purchase ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Processing of contra entries between purchase and sales ledger accounts.
  • Build relationships with the credit control functions within our key suppliers to ensure that there is a key point of contact to ease resolution of issues
