A global educational business based in the city centre currently seek a Senior Payroll Clerk for a period of 12 months. The position is to cover a period of Maternity. The role will work alongside a team of 4 other payrollers and this position specifically will be responsible for the UK payroll. The company are well established, have excellent benefits, a generous holiday allowance and are based in the heart of the city centre. The company don't offer parking but are near to the train station and are on local bus routes.

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Be a point of contact for key stakeholders in the business and process the UK payroll
• Continually review existing UK processes and systems with a view to actively identify process improvements
• Ensure accurate UK statutory staff payroll compliance, including calculation and reporting of all key components of UK staff payroll
• Ensure accurate UK pension reporting
• Support the internal and external payroll audit requirements including working collaboratively with the wider finance team
• Provide advice on UK payroll-related matters, responding to queries and working collaboratively with key stakeholders
• Support any UK payroll related projects

What we're looking for:
• Educated to at least A-level standard (or equivalent)
• CIPP Diploma or equivalent organisation (desirable)
• In-depth knowledge of UK legislation relating to payroll and pensions
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• You must be able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines as well as be able to manage your own time effectively
• Previous experience and knowledge of UK pension schemes
• High attention to detail required, with the ability to communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders across the business
• Demonstrates a high level of ownership, integrity, accountability, and time management
• Comfortable dealing autonomously with technical issues often in short timeframes
• Drive best practice through continuous process improvement
