A new role of Financial Controller has arisen working for a leading commercial business based on the borders of Essex and East Hertfordshire. This is a chance to work for an organisation that really influences people lives and one that will support you with your personal development.

Reporting into the Group Finance Director, the FC will be responsible for owning the
entire lifecycle of the UK based profit and loss statement and balance sheet, and communication of results on a monthly/weekly basis to group.

Duties and responsibilities will include;

• Overall responsibility for the finance function and management of the Finance team of 4
• Monthly reporting to Finance Director on performance of UK-based business on financial results of business, including variance analysis
• Manage the unit's performance and accountability against budget / forecast
• Prepare monthly financial close and associated schedules and reports evaluating and interpreting the business unit's financial performance
• Capital expenditure procedures adherence - building business case for capital expenditure / tracking and reporting capital expenditure / undertaking post project reviews
• Assess spending and investment alternatives across all operational areas and make efficiency improvement recommendations
• Assist in special projects as needed using analytical, problem solving and financial modelling skills
• Develop the annual operation and strategic plan as well as continuous monitoring of performance against the plan and updating forecasts
• Coach local sales and client services teams to reduce revenue leakage and make profitable decisions
• Carry out sox related activity as required
• Contribute to and attend regular sales, finance and leadership meetings


Skills, experience and qualifications required;


• You will be a Qualified Accountant with at least 3 years post qualification experience
• Extensive experience with business financial analysis, including budgeting and financial planning processes and ongoing monitoring of performance such as analysis of actual to budget, commentary on variances
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with remote teams
• Good influencing skills
