A business based in Histon currently seek a temporary payroll team leader, initially this role is for 6 months but could become a permanent post. The business offer a nice working environment, free on site parking, flexible working and an excellent renumeration package. The role will involve the management and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls. This role will work alongside one other payroll clerk. This role has an almost immediate start however the business could wait for the right candidate.

The main duties of the role are as follows:

Oversee the accurate processing of the weekly payroll process for temporary contractors at Pure ensuring full compliance of all statutory payroll requirements, including:
oRTI checks and submissions to HMRC within the required deadlines
oProduction and submission of the Employment Intermediaries reporting to HMRC within the required deadlines
oProduction and distribution of communications (internal and external) regarding changes to payroll processing - bank holidays for example
oPension - administration of the NEST pension scheme including processing, payments and reconciliation
oAdministration of all third party/managed service provider accounts and the corresponding manual payroll requirements
• Responsible for the checks and submission of the PAYE, NI and Apprenticeship Levy payments to HMRC for all payrolls within the required deadlines
• Responsible for the Payroll mailbox - ensuring the Payroll team prioritise appropriately and escalate any issues when needed within required timelines
• Responsible for reviewing and distributing weekly payroll reporting including temp fees and AWR tracker
• Oversee the use of the timesheet tool, including monitoring of submissions and analysis of costs
• Identify and help to resolve any outstanding issues promptly and appropriately to ensuring timely delivery of service
• Weekly reporting, highlighting any areas as required
• Manage the Payroll team including quarterly reviews of team
• Act as a point of contact for the Payroll team for escalated queries/issues, use initiative and take action to help resolve these problems
• Ensure the Payroll team regularly maintain all analysis spreadsheets for reporting
• Ensure that all payroll information remains confidential within the payroll team and that the business complies with Data Protection legislation in this respect
• Encourage and develop motivation and individual potential

Skills and experience
• Ability to manage payroll function and lead the team
• Proven payroll experience including manual calculations
• Up to date knowledge of payroll legislation
• A strong work ethic with an organised approach. Attention to detail is important
• Trustworthy and Professional managing highly confidential Information
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Internet, Excel and Access
• Excellent numeracy skills
