Pure Resourcing's established Tech Division is currently partnering with a historic, pioneering business based on the outskirts of Colchester who are currently seeking a operationally focussed IT Manager on a permanent basis.

As IT Manager you will take full responsibility for managing the IT department reporting to the CTO, managing external resources, managing the provision and project deployments for the entire business and ensuring excellent customer service.
(In this role we are looking for a technical lead with a very hands on approach, and proven track record in regards to hands on infrastructure management/support.)

Main Responsibilities:

• To manage the day to day aspects of the IT department
• Line manage, mentor and guide team members
• Manage external resources (contractor, consultants) - establish work schedules and budgets, monitor output, ensure that work is documented and any operation tasks are validated
• Pro-actively communicate IT matters to the business and seek feedback on service/delivery
• Manage IT budgets and expenditure - produce budgets, monitor expenditure against budget, manage supplier relationships
• Work with IT and external suppliers to resolve support/serious issues
• Provide a strategic view for IT working closely with the ITD and across senior stakeholders
• Document plans and procedures and ensure they are followed by team members
• Identify, develop and implement new IT strategies and ways of working using available best practice and introducing new technologies
• Establish/develop and maintain relationships with the different departments - identify support issues, identify opportunities for improving processes
• Working with the business to define administration roles for business systems

We are looking for someone with some of the following experience/skills and qualifications:

• Prince 2 and/or ITIL qualified
• Project Management - ERP/CRM experience highly desirable
• Strong operations IT experience with a very hands on approach
• SCCM/SMS experience highly desirable
• Background in management of 1st -3rd line support
• Broad range of networks and server experience and still "hands on" in regards to these areas
• Telecoms experience , ideally with Cisco
• Security awareness
• Must be able to demonstrate good experience of IT delivery to an SME environment
• Strong people management with experience working with teams of 5+
• Solid understanding of the IT process and procedures and the need for quality user support
• A hands-on approach
• Strong communicator
