This newly created role is to work alongside the business to develop and deliver a people plan to meet the strategic and operational needs of the business. This is a senior HR generalist role responsible for the management and development of Human Capital across the organisation. The role will be required to create and deliver people strategies, coach and develop our leaders to create a high-performance culture across the organisation. This is a challenging role that supports the entire employee life cycle.

The ideal candidate for this role will be fully CIPD qualified and have significant HR experience operating at a senior level. You must be an excellent communicator with strong stake holder management skills with the ability to provide technical and practical solutions, advice and support all levels across the business. You will need to have strong interpersonal and influencing skills and have up to date knowledge of employment law with the ability to translate and imbed best practice across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach and develop managers at all levels to build people management capabilities. Support and enable managers to build high performance teams.
• Build and develop excellent working relationships with internal customers to understand their business needs to develop and implement a people plan
• Develop, plan and implement change programmes including TUPE, restructures and harmonisation of terms and conditions
• Accountable for leading continuous improvement in business outcomes by coaching and developing leaders in all aspects of HR
• Provide expert advice on employment law translating this knowledge into practical solutions on ER matters
• Take the lead to effectively resolve employee relation cases including sickness absence, performance, grievance, disciplinaries and appeals
• Develop and facilitate people management workshops to increase management capabilities
• Lead the delivery of key HR projects
• Create and share a suite of metrics on HR activity/trends and develop action plans with leaders to highlight and improve areas of concern whilst developing action for remedies
• To manage, develop, coach and act as a role model for the HR Team
• Responsible for updating and developing HR policies and practices
• Provide advice and support to leaders on all recruitment whilst working with the Resource Lead to successfully fill vacancies in a cost-effective manner
• Develop succession plans with leaders to identify and develop talent
• Conduct exit interviews to establish root cause analysis of leavers implementing plans to improve retention

Skills and Experience
• Fully qualified CIPD with significant experience of working as a senior HR Generalist role with up to date employment law knowledge
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships, influence and persuade at all levels
• Experience of creating, developing and implementing workforce planning and people plans
• Extensive experience of coaching and developing managers and providing HR advice and counsel on all people related matters
• Extensive experience of managing complex employee relation cases
• Experience of planning and implementing change programmes including TUPE, restructures and harmonisation of terms and conditions
• Experience of completing effective mediation to improve employee relations
• Updating and writing HR policies and management guides in a clear and concise manner
