Are you an HR Administrator looking for a step up position, then this may be the role for you! An HR Advisor is required to work for an engineering business located in North Cambridge.

Job Responsibilities
• Be first point of contact to support line mangers with advice. Coaching and guidance on a variety of employee relation issues. Including disciplinary & grievance matters
• Coach managers through managing employee related issues to ensure ownership of issues and development of line manager skills
• Provide guidance to management on how to manage potential employee related issues at the informal stage prior to any formal action and necessary follow on actions
• Provide effective, practical advice and guidance to manage potential employee related issues at the informal stage
• Ensure line managers understand how to conduct meetings, including advice on meeting preparation, format and recording. Create meeting frameworks, scripts and template letters as required
• Proactively monitor & manage cases, ensure cases are prioritised and support is provided to line manager as soon as possible to ensure cases are resolved in a timely manner
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of employment law, case law and best practice
• Support L&D team in creating and delivering training in respect of management skills by providing an overview of areas for improvement and some real life case studies to demonstrate this
• Ensure accurate maintenance of all people records and HR database in relation to employee relation issues

Skills required

• Solid experience in an advisory role in a multi-site company. Experience in dealing with a wide range of employee relation issues with varying degrees of complexity
• Strong communication skills
• Confident to engage at all levels of the organisation
• Able to listen and question effectively an make rational judgements in a decisive fashion
• Flexible approach to dealing with challenges and solving problems
