Pure are delighted to be recruiting for a Corporate Accountant to join a leading independent business based near Bury St Edmunds.

The key focus of this role is to produce monthly consolidated management accounts and quarterly financial reporting to shareholders; lead production of statutory financial statements and assist with co-ordination of external audit; operate. Additionally you will enhance financial accounting and reporting processes and controls.

Responsibilities
• Produce consolidated monthly and quarterly financial reporting in respect of monthly management accounts to management, quarterly financial reporting
• Support the development and continuous improvement of appropriate financial and operational controls and procedures
• Support the delivery of insight and analysis regarding key areas of business performance, including monitoring financial KPIs and performance against identified benchmarks and understanding variances
• Lead the timely completion of monthly financial period close procedures
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Develop process improvements and increased automation in tax calculations and reporting
• Tax forecasting and planning
• Support the completion of quarterly tax estimates, including analysis of tax sensitive expenditure
• Lead production of statutory financial statements prepared
• Support the external audit process liaising directly with auditors and helping to co-ordinate an efficient audit process across finance
• Assist with preparation of annual corporation tax returns
• Assist with completion of quarterly tax estimates by providing analysis of tax sensitive expenditure
• Drive process improvements for procedures and controls relevant to financial reporting
• Analyse, and summarise for internal reporting purposes

Skills
• Qualified accountant with 0-2 years post-qualification experience
• Experience of consolidations and preparation of statutory financial statements under FRS 102 and IFRS preferable
• Organised with strong task management skills and able to manage own workload
• Takes initiative to identify potential areas of improvement and offer solutions
• Highly numerate
• Strong communicator with the ability and confidence to work with individuals across all levels of the business
• Ability to analyse and appropriately challenge information presented

The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, an understanding of core corporation tax principles and the ability to work1 with high degrees of accuracy.
