In a recent study of senior finance roles, Pure Resourcing Solutions has
found that over 48% of director-level finance appointments in the last year
have come from the same industry sector.


"This trend in East Anglia is significant for accountants looking for a new role - more and
more candidates are being scrutinised regarding their sector-related experience and those
who have it are statistical y more likely to be appointed. For example, a client in the
engineering sector will prefer candidates who have finance experience from this specific
sector," says Lynn Walters, director of Pure Resourcing Solutions.

candidates alike. Over the last year there has been an increase in the number of senior
finance managers and finance directors seeking opportunities in the region, but companies

In the same study, Pure also found that 96% of the candidates placed in these roles already
live in the eastern region although many were enduring the commute to London for their
previous jobs. These statistics revealed that the competition for senior accountancy jobs in
the East of England is fierce but very beneficial to firms looking for new staff because of the
wealth of experience these candidates offer.
