Christmas spirit still alive and kicking for East Anglian Businesses… Dec 2009
In spite of more difficult economic times across the country, it would appear that local businesses are determined to make sure their employees still have something to celebrate this Christmas.
A survey by Pure Resourcing Solutions of over 6,000 East Anglian companies and organisations showed that 89% were still intending to have their Christmas party and 88% were still intending to put up Christmas decorations in the office. Although 69% did admit that it was likely that the celebrations would be scaled down this year.
Interestingly 58% of the people surveyed stated that they would rather have an office Christmas celebration than receive an equivalent monetary bonus.
Gill Buchanan, Director of Pure Resourcing Solutions, said: “It's been a tough year for a lot of businesses in the region but it's great to see that the spirit of Christmas has not been affected. We are having our own Christmas celebration and I think after working so hard this year we are all looking forward to letting our hair down and celebrating what we have achieved as a team.”
On a more personal note 58% of respondents said that they would be tightening their purse strings for Christmas 2009, spending less money on their own celebrations and present-buying. Return to News
